Nutrition introduction

In response to the request, a committee was formed to oversee the work of three subcommittees: (1) nutritional status and weight gain during pregnancy, (2) dietary intake and nutritional supplementation during pregnancy, and (3) nutrition during lactation. The deliberations of the third subcommittee constitute this report.
